Current status

Dreame Technology unveiled the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete at IFA 2026 in Berlin on 3 September 2026, in its own press release alongside several other products. This is a production model with named markets, dates and prices, not a concept.

European retail is close: Spain from around 21 September 2026. What does not exist is a US launch, a US price, a US retailer listing, an Amazon US listing or an ASIN. A dedicated Dreame product page for this exact model was also not found at the time of writing, so the specifications below come from Dreame's announcement material and from journalists briefed at the show.

Which Aqua20 this page covers

"Aqua20" is a family, not a single machine, and the names are close enough to cause real confusion. This page covers only the flagship Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete (Dreame part number R501UA/H/5/6/D/8/Y/W). Other Aqua20 models tracked by retailers and spec aggregators include:

Confirmed specifications

Everything in this table comes from Dreame's own announcement material for this exact model. Performance numbers are Dreame's figures; none of them have been independently verified yet.

How the steam system works

Steam is generated inside the robot, not in the dock. Dreame describes four outlets applying steam directly to the floor to loosen dried-on marks, with the hot-water AquaRoll roller following behind to wipe and collect. It is a pre-treatment step in the cleaning sequence rather than continuous background steaming.

This is Dreame's first robot vacuum to combine steam pre-treatment with roller mopping, which is exactly why so much of it is unverified. Dreame has not published the water requirements for the steam system, any descaling schedule, whether cleaning solution may be used, what the steam does to runtime, or the safety protections around it. Those all sit in the unknown list below.

Manufacturer-commissioned testing: Dreame cites a 99.999% bacteria-removal result from an SGS laboratory test it commissioned. That is a laboratory figure obtained under laboratory conditions on Dreame's behalf. It is not our finding, it is not a promise about your home, and we make no health, sanitisation or sterilisation claims of our own on the strength of it.

What the 180°C claim actually means

180°C is Dreame's claimed core steam-generation temperature — the temperature reached inside the robot where the steam is produced. It is not the temperature of your floor.

Steam loses heat the moment it leaves an outlet, and it loses more on contact with a surface. Dreame has not published the temperature of the steam when it reaches the flooring, nor the resulting surface temperature, nor how long any heat lingers. Anyone quoting 180°C as what your hardwood experiences is inventing a number. Until Dreame publishes those figures, the only accurate statement is the one on the box: the steam is generated at a claimed 180°C.

AquaRoll roller mopping and MopExtend

The AquaRoll system feeds clean water continuously to a roller turning at around 300 rpm, collecting the dirty water separately rather than pushing it around. Dreame quotes 18 N of downward pressure, which is what separates a roller system from a pad that simply drags. MopExtend pushes the roller up to 8 cm beyond the body so it can reach into edges and around kickboards.

Vacuuming, brushes and anti-tangle

Dreame rates suction at 40,000 Pa and pairs it with the HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush 2.0, its anti-tangle brush design. Pa figures are manufacturer bench numbers measured in ways that differ between brands, so treat 40,000 Pa as a positioning statement rather than a like-for-like score against another maker's figure. The anti-tangle brush is the more meaningful detail in a home with long hair or pets — though how well it works is exactly the kind of thing that only shows up in independent testing, which does not exist yet.

Navigation and object recognition

Dreame claims recognition of more than 320 object types and detection of obstacles as small as 10 mm, with route adjustment around moving obstacles. What Dreame has not published for this exact model is the navigation hardware and camera specification — so we are not going to state which sensors are fitted, and we are not borrowing the answer from another Dreame model.

ProLeap obstacle climbing

ProLeap is Dreame's climbing system, rated for single steps up to 5 cm and two-step obstacles up to 10 cm. That is the feature aimed at homes with raised thresholds between rooms or a step into a sunken living area — the sort of place where a robot normally needs carrying. Both figures are Dreame's ratings under its own conditions.

Carpet handling and AutoSeal

Dreame states that the AutoSeal Roller Guard seals the wet roller when carpet is detected, and that TripleUp lifts the side brush, main brush and mop independently so wet and dry cleaning stay separate. Beyond that, Dreame has not documented how the steam system behaves in the vicinity of carpet, and we are not going to fill that in.

Flooring compatibility and the unanswered steam-safety questions

This is the biggest gap in the announcement. Dreame has not published exact-model steam-safety guidance for hardwood, engineered hardwood, laminate, LVP or vinyl, tile or stone. Every one of those is UNKNOWN until Dreame publishes operating instructions for this model.

We are not going to tell you steam is safe on your floor, because nobody has published the information that would make that a responsible thing to say. Steam behaviour cannot be inferred from ordinary non-steam robot vacuums, and it cannot be inferred from another Dreame model. When you do decide, two things govern it: what Dreame's own operating instructions permit, and what your flooring manufacturer's cleaning requirements allow. Many wood, engineered wood and laminate warranties restrict or prohibit steam outright, and the flooring warranty is the one that costs money if it is voided.

Dock and maintenance

The dock washes the roller with 100°C hot water after a run — hot water, not steam; the steam generator is in the robot. Dreame says the washboard cools before the next cleaning session begins. Dock dimensions, tank capacities, dustbin capacity, drying details, detergent support and any descaling routine have not been published, so the day-to-day maintenance burden of the steam system is still an open question.

Aqua20 vs current Dreame models

The useful generational comparison is the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete, the direct predecessor in the same roller-mopping line: 30,000 Pa, roller mop, self-cleaning dock, and no steam. The Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete adds the steam pre-treatment, raises the claimed suction to 40,000 Pa, and introduces MopExtend and AutoSeal.

The X50 Ultra and Matrix10 Ultra are a different matter. Dreame runs several premium families in parallel — the X series, the Matrix series with its swappable mop pads, the L series and the Aqua roller line — and each is defined by its signature technology rather than sitting on one ladder. Release date and European pricing

Spain: on sale from around 21 September 2026 through Dreame's Spanish store and Amazon Spain, with Worten and El Corte Inglés listed as following. Reported at €1,499, with a €1,199 introductory price for the first two weeks.

UK: £1,299 has been reported, with the availability date still to be confirmed.

No Dreame US product page for this exact model and no US retailer listing were found during our research, and Dreame has not announced US pricing or availability. Note that a European launch tells you nothing about a US one — Dreame ships different models to different regions, and we will not read one as the other.

Equally, the absence of an announcement is not evidence that the product will not be sold in the United States. Dreame sells extensively in the US and regularly brings European launches over later. The honest position is that nothing has been said, and this page will say so until something is.

Amazon availability

There is no confirmed Amazon US listing for this model and no ASIN. Amazon Spain is named as a launch channel in that market. Because there is no verified US listing, this page carries no buying button, no product card, no price and no rating — and it will not until a legitimate listing exists, at which point this same page is updated and the date recorded below.

Matter support: a discrepancy worth flagging

The robot appears in the Connectivity Standards Alliance's certified product database, which is what prompted several outlets to describe it as Matter-compatible. Dreame's own announcement does not make Matter a headline specification. Certification and shipped, documented, supported functionality are not the same thing, so we are reporting both rather than presenting Matter as a settled Dreame feature. Wi-Fi is confirmed.

Should US buyers wait?

Waiting for this specific machine is not something a US buyer can currently plan around. There is no announced US launch, no US price and no listing, so "wait" has no end date attached to it. There is also no independent testing of the steam system anywhere yet, and a first-generation feature is exactly where independent testing earns its keep.
